Thailand When people think of Thailand they think of this beautiful place with temples, beautiful water, neat clothing, good food etc. It is probably very rare that someone would take the time and sit back and actually wonder how thailand got the way that it is today. Everything in life starts at a point and eventually evolves and gets better. This is what happened in Thailand. When people first settled in Thailand there was not much there. This however, is very understandable since there was no one there or anything there before the earliest settlers. In this paper I will be explaining where they arrived, when people arrived in Thailand and why it is people settled in Thailand. First off, Thai people were the first that stepped foot in Thailand. These people were from SouthWestern China. They migrated all the way through Asia. It was stated that the first settlement was said to be around the 12th century. They established their territory at the Khmer Temple. There became an issue however, when different tribes wanted to overtake the land. The Mon and Sumatra felt as if they had control over the land. That however, was not going to sit well with the tribes. Only one tribe could own the land. Not all was well when another tribe began threatening to take the land. The French and british however said thai it was a Neutral land and that it needed to be used that way. It was stated that Thailand was established over 35,000 years ago. Thailand consisted of several tribes that had various cultural practices and outlooks on life. Once Thailand was established more and more people began to travel through Asia to be in Thailand. Thailand know has a population of about 67 million people and it is only continuing to grow. Thailand was known for having rice. Rice is grown constantly in Thailand and is a main food supply there. Rice is not hard to grow which is good because rice is a main component in the diets of those that live in Thailand. Rice that is grown here is also transported to various areas. A lot of Thailand's income comes from the selling of their rice. However, a lot of their land is used up to help efficiently grow rice that they can sell. Thailand's population continues to grow for various reasons. Like previously stated, Thailand is known for their rice. This is one of the reasons why so many people come to live in Thailand. Another thing is, there are a lot of temples in Thailand. This makes for great religious worship and practice. Another reason why many people come to Thailand is for the grains that they grow. Grains are not cheap which is why most people come to Thailand to get the grains. Grains are also an important component in the Thai people's diets. Other major things that Thailand is known for is sugarcane, cotton, and fruits. Thailand has weather that makes it easy for these crops to grow. In the end, many people came to Thailand for a reason. Not everyone thinks of why it is people chose to migrate to Thailand. 67 million people moved to Thailand all for various reasons. Some might have moved there for the agriculture, the worship at temples, or simply because they wanted to live in a new location. However, at the end of the day everyone that migrated to Thailand came for their own reason. These websites provided a variety of different points that I found interesting and important that I needed to implement into my paper. I did not know a lot about Thailand prior to writing this paper but now feel like I know a lot more about Thailand. This paper makes me want to visit Thailand more now since I know a little more about its history and it's unique story. |

The Pyramid Charts show us that the population in Thailand has changed tremendously over the years. In 2000 the population in Thailand tended to be a lot more sporadic than the population in 2016. Another thing is, the biggest age group that makes up 2000 was 40-44 while in 2016 15-19 year olds made up most of the population. It is weird how that is the case. One thing that both pyramids have in common is how little 90-94 year olds make up a population. In both pyramids only .1% of them make up the population.
